Static Line training originated in the military, as method of deploying troops and equipment.

It is the traditional and most affordable method of starting to skydive. Your Basic Course covers all the initial training and includes your first jump.

A minimum of 17 jumps are required for you to complete the full student training table and gain your novice "A" license. The first 5 of these use a static line (the parachute is opened automatically as you exit the aircraft) and the rest are freefall jumps where you pull your own ripcord. Each freefall jump gets progressively higher until you are jumping from over 6000' and freefalling for over 20 seconds, this provides a gradual and affordable progression to your novice "A" license.
